Over this past week there have been talks about a possible McNabb and Owens reunion. They played briefly together in Philadelphia. They reached Super Bowl XXIX in which Owens had 9 receptions on a bad ankle. However eventually a split locker room ended Owens' run with the Eagles.
I think it is a bad idea for the Redskins to sign Owens. He is not a true number one receiver in the league anymore. His talent does not outweigh his ability to divide a locker room. Owens was a great player in his prime, but he is past that point in his career. Owens 100 passes in only one season in his career to this point, and he is not going to be able to produce great numbers now. The risk of bringing Owens into a rebuilding franchise is not a good decision at this point.

I agree. I think that Owens should not play anymore and should not be signed by the Redskins. He used to be a great player, but now he is not, so he shouldn't be signed. He seems like he is just in it for the fame and glory, which is not the right way to be.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both of you. It would be a mistake to add a low performing player to a rebuilding franchise. Terrell Owens and Mcnabb do have alot of history together and did perform well together in the past but times have changed. Owens isn't performing up to par so why waste the money and the fate of your team on him.
